Wood identified to be high in carotenoids as per those found in grape berries. Demptos uses this wood to produce the Essencia barrel to enhance the fruit characters of the wines rather than impart oak aromas. Providing complex aromatics with fine tannins, this barrel elevates the fruit in the mouth and delivers very good length.
